This Green Consumer Day, we celebrate the power that consumers and businesses have to make a difference to the planet.
Kanga is proud to be a leader in green business practices, and we are committed to helping our customers and employees make sustainable choices.
We are excited to share that we have made significant progress in reducing our emissions, and we are continuing to invest in new technologies and solutions to further reduce our impact on the environment on our journey to becoming net zero.
We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and becoming net zero and are taking a number of steps to achieve this goal, including:
- Insetting: Kanga is investing in nature-based solutions to inset our emissions. For example, we’ve donated to the Bromley Farm community garden and the Vale Allotments in Congleton, which plant fruits, veg, trees and other plants for the community, as well as driving biodiversity.
- Electric car salary sacrifice scheme: Kanga offers staff a salary sacrifice scheme so that they can switch from petrol vehicles to electric. This helps to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
- Investment in Congleton Hydro: Kanga has invested in Congleton Hydro, a local hydroelectric power project. This provides green energy and helps to reduce reliance on fossil fuels
- Reduction in flights and unnecessary travel: The team at Kanga has been reducing flights to clients and only taking them where necessary. This helps to reduce our carbon footprint as a company.
- Reduce, reuse, recycle: We are also committed to reducing our waste, reducing our use of single-use plastic, and recycling as much as possible. We also encourage our employees to be environmentally conscious in their work and personal lives.
Our journey to net zero is ambitious, but with the support of all of our Roos, we are committed to making a difference.
By investing in nature-based solutions, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, and encouraging our employees to be environmentally conscious, we are helping to create a more sustainable future… and you can do the same!
We encourage everyone to join us in our journey to net zero. By making small changes to our everyday lives, we can make a big difference for the planet.
