Ed Snook describes what it’s like to work as a Senior Account Manager for Kanga. He takes us through his typical working day, his love for his garden and his (90!) house plants, and why he just loves working at Kanga!
What is your role at Kanga?
Senior Account Manager

What enticed you to apply for a role at Kanga?
I really fell into it by accident! I knew I wanted to move from Hospitality to Marketing, and Kay invited me to apply for the Account Manager role in 2016.
How is Kanga different from your previous workplaces?
Compared to previous workplaces, Kanga is a lot more consistent and provides job security. My hours are the same every day, Monday to Friday, unless I need flexibility. And that’s the key thing here at Kanga – I can deliver my work around a working schedule that, within reason, suits me and takes into account my regular diabetic check-ups, life events, etc.
How would you describe the Kanga team?
I wouldn’t use the word team; I would use the word family! Everyone at Kanga is fully bought into the way we do things, and we all support each other, sharing knowledge, experience, and being there for each other when times get a bit tough.
What is your typical working day like?
BUSY, but rewarding 😊 There’s never a dull moment and I will always find time in the day to have a natter with a colleague about work, and life!
On the topic of nattering with colleagues, how do you manage a healthy work-life balance?
The flexibility on offer at Kanga means I can take an hour at lunch to walk the dog or potter about in my greenhouse and come back to my desk re-charged.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I like to spend my time in the garden growing flowers and veg in the greenhouse; tending to my 90 houseplants; painting landscapes; and joining my friends in the pub for quizzes and street food events!
What would be the one thing you’d say about Kanga to potential candidates?
If you’re not sure about working here, then MEET US! We’re a lovely, diverse bunch of people and we’ll welcome anyone with open arms, once you realise that, you’ll be sure 😉
And finally, onto some quick-fire questions…
Would you rather travel to the past or to the future?
The past! In particular Ancient Rome and Greece
Tea or coffee?
COFFEE!
Do you believe in ghosts?
100%. Our house is haunted by a 2am snooker-loving old lady called Nora.
